Jo-Ann M. Brown Age 77 of Elkhart Lake, WI
Passed away early Friday morning (Jan. 18) at her daughter’s home in Elkhart Lake. She was born on June 7, 1935 at home in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Theodore and Stella (nee Beavers) Pirner. Jo-Ann graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1953 and also received her LPN certificate from Lakeshore Technical College in 1974. She worked at Sheboygan County Health Care Facility as a CNA and then worked at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility as a LPN for 18 years retiring in 1992. She worked in her retirement as a cook at Uncle Monte’s Restaurant and All Season’s Restaurant in Elkhart Lake and Sohn Manufacturing. Jo-Ann was a leader for the Girl Scouts for many years as well as a 4-H leader and was the Rabbit Barn Superintendent at the Sheboygan county fair. She enjoyed sports car road rallies, motorcycle rides, knitting, camping, swimming, crossword puzzles and traveling. Jo-Ann was indeed the #1 fan of Elvis Presley.
She is survived by five children: Theodora “Teddy” (LaMonte) Gilliam of Elkhart Lake, Toni (Larry) Fuerst of Plymouth, Terri (Jacob) Henschel of Elkhart Lake, Trudi (Mike) Swoboda of Richfield and Tim (Tami) Brown of Chilton; grandchildren: Justin and Amanda Gilliam, Michael (Michelle) Fuerst, Russell (Cortney) Fuerst, Sandra (Peter) Stiefvater, Amy (Tom) Gilbertson, JJ Henschel, Emily Reilly, Erika, Anika, and Anthony Swoboda and Noah Brown; ten great grandchildren; one sister: Martha Olson of Hales Corners; one niece: Carin (Brian) Strum and two nephews: Craig (Kristen) Olson and Kyle (Sue) Olson. Also survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild: T.J. Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Evening (Jan. 23) at 7:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Peter Peitsch, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart Lake will officiate. Burial will be Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin. Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday until the time of services.
