Willard R. Schroeter Age 86 of Silver Creek
Passed away early Sunday morning (Sept. 29) at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake where he had been a resident for 9 months. He was born on May 4, 1927 in Richfield, WI a son of the late Alex and Anita (Giese) Schroeter. He graduated from Random Lake High School in 1945. On May 27, 1950 he married Audrey Ehnert in New Fane, WI. The couple resided in Silver Creek since their marriage. She preceded him in death on May 28, 1986. He owned and operated his dairy farm in Silver Creek for his whole life. On April 29, 2006 he married Pearl L. Birkholz Goschey in Random Lake. The couple has resided in Silver Creek since their marriage. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Silver Creek and most recently was a member of New Horizon United Church of Christ in Boltonville. He was the assistant chief for the Silver Creek Fire Department for 22 years and belonged to the department for 65 years. He served on the board of directors of the Adell Co-op for many years and was a member of the Nite Flyers Snowmobile Club in Beechwood and the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club in St. Germain (riding with the Apple Dumpling Gang). He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, dancing the polka and was very creative in building many projects and loved spending time at his cottage in St. Germain.
Survivors include his wife Pearl of Silver Creek One daughter: Jean (Ray) Mueller of Silver Creek Two step children: Dale (Diane) Goschey of Silver Creek Lori (Jack) Ploof of Batavia One special loving granddaughter: Shannon Mueller (special friend: Mike Siebert) of Brookfield Six step grandchildren One step great grandchild One sister-in-law: LuAnn Schroeter of Wausau Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by one brother: LeRoy (Peggy) Schroeter.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening (Oct. 3) at 6:30 P.M. at New Horizon United Church of Christ in Boltonville. Rev. David Schlieter, pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s U.C.C. Cemetery. Friends may call at the CHURCH from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Willard’s name.
