Merv L Pyle

U.S. Veteran

Mervyn L. Pyles was born April 5, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas to the union of Theodore R. and Alma O. Pyles. He later changed his name to Merv Pyle. Merv was educated in the Wichita public schools system and subsequently earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music. After graduation from high school, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Before, during, and after his military service, Merv performed, taught, and exercised his musical gifts. He continued his musical career by playing, recording, and producing for some well-known Big Bands, Small Bands, and Individuals. With his extensive talents in playing multiple instruments, Merv wrote and produced his own musical works which lead to the starting of Big Horn Music, and then Rhythmic Rainbow Music production companies. Merv expanded his repertoire to include writing and produced a number of children’s books, which lead to the development of the Gingerbread Publishing Company. He also did professional photography and video works for special events. This was extended through projects making VHS and DVD productions. In recent years, Merv enjoyed doing projects for the Random Lake Area Historical Society. Merv traveled extensively, by train, when vacationing to see relatives and friends. His love of travel took him all over the United States as well as many foreign countries. He also traveled during his years as a professional truck driver with his own company and then with other companies. He lived in Wisconsin for most of his life and retired in Random Lake, Wisconsin. Merv was preceded in death by his father, Theodore; mother, Alma; and brothers, Michael and Myron. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Roslyn Gray; brothers: Donald, Warren (Jackie), Milford (Carol), and David; sisters: Vinita (Curtis), Teresa (Dwight), and Ann; god-daughter, Pam; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Private family services and cremation has taken place. The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Plymouth is serving the family. For online condolences, please visit www.suchonfh.com.
