Charlotte “Chuck” Schwanke Huibregtse, age 94 of Plymouth, Wisconsin, passed away on March 8th, 2017.

She was born on March 1, 1923 in Bad Polzin, Germany to the late Paul and Helen (Gatzke) Gauger and came through Ellis Island with her family when she was nine months old.

Charlotte worked at Mayline before being hired as the first female to work in the factory of Eclipse Mfg. until her retirement where she had the job of making gumball machines. She loved to travel and wrote beautiful poetry about her life experiences, her family and her friends. Charlotte enjoyed taking walks down the streets of Plymouth in her Reeboks and visiting with her many friends along the way. She will always be remembered by those who knew her as a sweet, spunky, playful, sassy lady who loved her family and friends. Her creative way with poetic words and her imagination in seeing faces in the clouds will be wonderful memories of a beautiful woman who lived a full, happy life.

To Be Remembered By Charlotte Schwanke Huibregtse: “I’d like to write a song that everyone could sing, I’d like to paint a scene that shows eternal spring, I want to leave my mark to be remembered, I’d like to write a poem that makes somebody swoon, I’d like to climb a hill or fly a big balloon, I want to leave my mark to be remembered.”

Charlotte is survived by her four children, Sandy (Tom) Greif, Ronald (special friend, Fran) Schwanke, David (Anne) Schwanke and Edward (Dawn) Schwanke; her nine grandchildren, Kerri Hearne, Kelly Schwanke (special friend, Jon), Matt Greif, Scott Schwanke, Molly (Zack) Steuerwald, Andy (Ana) Schwanke, Justin (Renee) Schwanke, Ashton (Jason) Rentmeester and Jordan (Blake) Liermann; and her ten, soon to be eleven, great-grandchildren, Cameron and Taylor Gruenke, Andrew and Campbell Hearne, Ella Greif, Sydney and Caeden Steuerwald, Leighton Schwanke, Isabel Schwanke and Ellie Rentmeester.

She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Karen Hermann and Ursula Schwanke, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, three sisters, Ann Schwanke, Jeanette Gauger and Edith Fletcher as well as numerous other family members and friends.
