Obituary for Edward L. Pfister

Edward L. Pfister, age 89, of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.
He was born on July 25, 1927 in Sheboygan, son of the late Edward J. and Eunice (Bolz) Pfister.
Ed attended St. Peter Claver Elementary School in Sheboygan and graduated from Central High School in 1945.
He served in the United States Navy from 1944 - 1948.
On May 25, 1957 he married Shirley Zastoupil at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Edward worked at Wisconsin Electric Power Plant, retiring in 1982. His wife preceded him in death on December 16, 2004. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Ed enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, playing tennis and being outside. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include his three children: Keith (Vicki) Pfister of Sheboygan, Mary Beth Zimmerman of Sheboygan, and John (Wendy) Pfister of Grand Blanc, MI; Five Grandchildren: Melissa (Mike) Rank, Matthew (Krystle) Pfister, Aaron Pfister (Fiancé Ellen Silver), Jonathan Pfister, and Cody Zimmerman; Two Great-grandchildren: Natalie and Elizabeth Rank; Four brothers and sisters: Ken (Mary Ann) Pfister of Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen (William) Harms of Sheboygan, Gerald (Lois) Pfister of Sun Prairie, and Ronald (Lois) Pfister of Sheboygan; and One Sister-in-law: Carol Pfister of Lac du Flambeau, WI.
Ed is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law: Jeff Zimmerman; Two brothers: Roger Pfister and Bruce Pfister; One sister: Pat Verona; Three brothers-in-law: William Zastoupil, Tony Verona, and Sylvester Seipel; Two sisters-in-law: Audrey Zastoupil and Marion Seipel; and One nephew: Dennis Seipel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday (February 20, 2017) at 5:30 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dennis Van Beek will officiate. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.
Friends may call at the CHURCH on Monday (February 20, 2017) from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Ed’s name for St. John the Baptist Christian Women.
The family would like to send special thanks to the entire staff of the Pine Haven Covenant Home for the wonderful care and compassion give to Ed.
