Obituary for Harry J. "Harry O" Molkenthine

Harry J. “Harry O” Molkenthine, age 67, of the Town of Mitchell, WI, passed away early Sunday morning (November 19, 2017) at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

He was born on April 9, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI, a son of the late Walter J. Molkenthine Sr. and Josephine (Lenz) Molkenthine.

He attended Pius Grade School in the Town of Mitchell and attended Plymouth High School.

Harry O served in the United States Marine Corp from 1967-1969, during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a Silver Star, Purple Heart and Bronze Star during his time of service. He had a strong love for the Marine Corp.

He was married to the former Jean Reinemann.

He owned and operated “Harry O’s” tavern in Fond du Lac County for many years.

Harry O worked for the Gilson Brothers for 6 years and Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution for over 20 years until retiring in 1997.

He was a former member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in the Town of Mitchell and a founding member of the Rite O Ways Motorcycle Club and a lifelong member of the Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post 5612.

Harry O enjoyed deer hunting, watching his Western TV shows and the Green Bay Packers, feeding his bantam chickens, pigeons and beef cattle and taking care of his dogs; but most of all he loved the freedom riding his motorcycle gave to him and spending time with his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Survivors Include: One brother: Andrew (Carol) Molkenthine of Plymouth; Nieces and Nephews: David (Michelle) Molkenthine of Plymouth; Karey (Tony) Scott of Plymouth; Dan (Angie) Molkenthine of Plymouth; and Brenda Susen of New Holstein.

He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by One Sister: Rosie (Gilbert) Manderle; Three Brothers: Walter Jr., Leo, and Michael Molkenthine; and One Nephew: Jerald Manderle.

Funeral services will be held on Friday Evening (Nov. 24, 2017) at 7:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Cremation will take place following the services.

Visitation will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home on Friday (Nov. 24) from 3:00 P.M. until the time of services.

Military Rites will be conducted by the Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 following the services at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Harry’s name for the Wounded Warrior Project.
