Obituary for Jane M. Mueller

Jane Mae Mueller, age 71, of Plymouth, entered the arms of her Lord on Thursday (April 6, 2017) at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, two days before her 50th wedding anniversary.

She was born on July 2, 1945 in Fond du Lac, WI, the second of three very caring daughters born to the late Ambrose “Speed” and Marian (Lefeber) Feldner of St. Cloud, WI.

Jane spent her youth in St. Cloud attending grade school, working at Feldner Cheverolet, and enjoying the close knit nature of this holyland community. She was later educated in Fond du Lac graduating from St. Mary’s Springs High School and subsequently completing her college degree in nursing. Jane was wired to help people and spent the earliest years of her career life as an LPN at Plymouth hospital.

On April 8, 1967, she married Jerry L. Mueller at St. Claudius Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple bought a house on Bishop Street in Plymouth following their marriage and have called it home ever since.

In the early 1970’s she left nursing to help Jerry build and run the family Plumbing business until Jerry’s health forced retirement in 1993.

Jane was a dedicated and caring member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth where she served with the Daughters of Isabella and helped in a great variety of church activities. Over the years she also served as a Cub Scout Den Leader, volunteered routinely at St. Vincent de Paul and spent decades delivering Meals on Wheels. She was always there to help neighbors, friends, and people in need and the motivation that drove her to become a nurse stayed with her throughout life as she was simply driven to serve others.

She loved shopping and returning, camping, quilting, and spending time with her loving family on road trips and vacations. She brought humor and a strong positive attitude to everything she did and wielded both these skills during the many challenges in life and through her final days in the ICU.

Jane was the Matriarch of the Mueller family and nothing was more important to her than working with Jerry to raise their three children. She was a parent first and a friend second teaching and guiding her children to have strong moral character, a great work ethic and deep spiritual values. The impact she and Jerry had on their children has been further fostered in their five wonderful grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her loving husband: Jerry of Plymouth; Three children: Jeff (Marsha) of Plymouth, Jeane (Brent) Sager of Plymouth, Julie (Chris) LaVine of Plymouth; Five grandchildren: Madelyn Mueller, Darian and Amanda Sager, and Adam and Emily LaVine; Two sisters: Judy (Pedro) Wagner of St. Cloud and Joyce (John) Helz of Oshkosh; Sister-in-law: Joann (Tim) Brock of Sheboygan; and Best friend: Marsha (Gary) Vance of Onalaska.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: James and Diane Mueller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sunday (April 9, 2017) at 4:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Father Dennis Van Beek will officiate. Cremation will take place following the services.

Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Sunday (April 9) from 1:30 P.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Jane’s name for liver disorder research.

The family would like to thank the compassionate staff of the Sheboygan Memorial Hospital ICU and ER Staff for their wonderful care. They would also like to send special thanks to Dr. Kapur, Dr. Ritt, Dr. Sokhi, and the other wonderful doctors at Aurora and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic for the extraordinary care given to Jane.
