Obituary for Patricia L. Dick

Patricia “Patt” L. Dick, age 89, of Plymouth, passed away early Friday morning (August 4, 2017).

She was born on December 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Willard and Margaret (Gerth) Swift.

When Patt decided she was going to do something there was no stopping her. For example, Patt was determined to learn how to play golf, and, as with most things she decided to take on, she went ALL IN. She golfed nearly every day and joined any golf league she could. In the same vein, she decided to enter the Senior Olympics one year and took home a gold medal in swimming!

Patt was a talented artist and painted portraits, landscapes, and flowers. She painted with oils, and sometimes water colors, though she loved oils best. Many family members and friends are honored to have a PLD original painting hanging in their homes.

Patt loved living and her quest for life took her on adventures around the world. She was an inspiration and a force of nature and made a positive impact on every person she met.

Patt attended and graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1945.

On May 14, 1949 she married Norman F. “Bud” Dick at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. The couple resided in Plymouth area since their marriage. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2011.

They owned and operated the Moby Dick Campground outside of Plymouth for over 30 years.

She volunteered at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church as a Gym Teacher/cheerleading coach and founded/ran the concession stand for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Road America for many years.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

Survivors include one daughter: Terese Dick of Milwaukee; One grandchild: Melissa Peyton (Partner: Virginia Harrison) of Madison.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son: Michael; One brother: Thomas Swift; and Two sisters-in-law: Mary Jane and Virginia.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday afternoon (August 8, 2017) at 4:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Philip Reifenberg, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas South Catholic Cemetery (formerly St. Fridolin’s Cemetery) in Greenbush.

Friends may call at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of services.
