Obituary for Robert H. Kuether

Robert H. Kuether, age 92, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday (August 15, 2017) at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility where he had been a resident for the past 7 years.

He was born in Redwing, MN on April 17, 1925, son of the late Herman and Eleonora (Hendel) Kuether.

Robert attended grade school in Howards Grove, WI and graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1943.

Following high school, he served in the United States Army during World War II.

On January 25, 1950, he married Marilyn Gerlach at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Howard’s Grove, where his father was the minister. Marilyn preceded him in death on June 27, 2006.

Robert worked on his own as a general contractor for most of his life, focusing on the residential side of contracting.

He was a current member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Howard’s Grove, and former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plymouth.

Robert enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, traveling in the motor home, spending retirement in Arizona, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include: Two Children: Mark (Bobbie) Kuether of Plymouth and Kim Kuether of Appleton; Six Grandchildren: Adam (Marcie) Marx, Travis Kuether, Courtney Kuether (Fiance: Greg Jensema), Ryan Kuether, Krista (Rob) Jones, and Nicholas (Chrissy) Kuether; Eight Great-grandchildren and 2 Step Great-grandchildren; and Three Brothers: Richard, Eugene (Connie), and Herman Kuether.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by: His wife: Marilyn; Daughter: Kelly; Son: Glenn; Grandson: Chad; Step-Grandson: Brandon; Four Sisters; One Brother-in-law; and Three Sisters-in-law.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday (August 22, 2017) at 12 Noon at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Rev. Charles Heup, Pastor of the Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.

Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Tuesday (August 22) from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.

Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites at the Church following the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Robert’s name.
