Obituary for James A. Nelson

James A. “Jim” Nelson, age 72, of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where he was surrounded by his loving family.
He was never one to complain and he fought his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis with silent dignity and always tried to push forward.
Jim was born on October 17, 1945, son of the late Earl and Cecelia (Kern) Nelson. He attended grade school in Glenbeulah and graduated from Elkhart Lake – Glenbeulah High School in 1963.
On July 2, 1966 he married Lesa Bonnett at St. Fridolin’s Catholic Church in Glenbeulah.
He worked various jobs in his younger years and worked many jobs at Kohler Company, ending his 44 year career as Supervisor of Plumbing payroll.
Jim coached little leagues teams for both boys and girls for many years in Greenbush, and also kept stats for Elkhart Lake – Glenbeulah High School basketball and football teams.
He was an avid Wisconsin Badger football fan and always knew when to cheer them on with a “Go you stinkin’ Badgers,” to bring them over the goal line. He also loved the game of golf, an occasional gambling trip, and spending time in Lake Havasu City, AZ.
Jim is survived by: His wife of 52 years: Lesa; Loving Children: Melissa (Ken) Lefeber and Christopher (Michelle) Nelson; Grandchildren: Jessica and Peter Walsdorf, and Madelyn and Hayden Nelson; Sister: Doris (Norm) Nickel; Brother-in-law: Marvin “Stormy” Soerens; and Sisters-in-law: Nancy Nelson and Carolyn Leynse.
He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: His parents; Father and Mother-in-law: Jack and LaVern Bonnett; One infant daughter; Brother: Robert Nelson; Three sisters: Vera Soerens, Jeanette Sasse, and LaVerne (Al) Balthazor; and Brother-in-law: Bill Leynse.
