Obituary for Shirley A. Habeck

Shirley A. Habeck, age 80, formerly of the Town of Sherman, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2019, in Tigerton, WI.

She was born on September 11, 1938 in Stockbridge, Michigan; a daughter
of the late Howard and Ada (Corser) Trapp.

Shirley attended Stockbridge, MI area schools, graduating from Stockbridge High School in 1956. Shirley also attended Madison Business School.

On August 28, 1961, Shirley married Merlyn W. Habeck in Madison, WI. The couple resided in Madison, Wisconsin Dells, Lake Delton, and Milwaukee; moving to Silver Creek in 1982. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2001.

She was employed as a Claims Representative for the Social Security Administration Office in West Bend, WI for 27 years, retiring in 2003.

Shirley was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia.
Her hobbies included bowling, golfing and traveling. She spent the past ten years in the Madison/Sun Prairie area before moving to Tigerton. She was so grateful for all the wonderful friendships that she made there. She loved to go out to dinner and spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: Son: Grant Habeck of Tigerton, WI; Daughter: Melanie (Brendon) Smith of Madison, WI; Three grandchildren: Michael (Rachael), Cole & Cooper; Two great-grandchildren: Blakely and Brayden; Three sisters: Carol Satterthwaite of Chelsea, MI, Patricia Patterson of Jackson, MI, and Nancy (Albert) Matyzius of Stockbridge, MI; Two brothers: Glen Trapp of Florida and Edward (Sue) Trapp of Great Falls, MT; One brother-in-law: Donald Habeck of Tomahawk, One sister-in-law: Verna Habeck of Rothschild, WI.

Shirley is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by: Her husband; Parents; Sister: Jeanette Collins; and Three brothers: Dr. Allen Trapp, James Trapp, and Robert Trapp.

Private family services will be scheduled at the Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia.

Interment will be in parish cemetery.
